November 2008 Newsletter

Happy Thanksgiving

We at the Mid-South Bunny Museum are thankful for our first completed year of sending out these fun newsletters.  Thank you to all who send us encouraging replies about how much you enjoy them.  We are all busy in this modern society in which we live so we like to keep the Newsletter light and easy to absorb.  Of course, for in-depth information on caring for your rabbit please read our articles posted on this web site.

Merry Christmas

What is this?  Christmas isn't until next month.  True, but we wanted to remind all our house rabbit owners to be very careful with using tinfoil tinsel on your Christmas tree.  If your rabbit should eat an "Icicle" that has made its way to the floor (which these icicles inevitably do) it could damage his/her health.  In fact, keeping your bunny from having access to your Christmas tree is the best policy.  Bunnies want to know what are in those presents the same as us.

For great Christmas gift ideas for your pet rabbits you can go to Rabbit Toys for a wonderful selection of great toys for your bunny to chew on and play with.   Their motto at Pet Rabbit Toys is  "We Satisfy the Need to Gnaw".

For a wonderful bunny calendar to give out as a Christmas gift and at the same time help in the supporting of bunny rescuers you need to check out House Rabbit Network of Massachusetts' 2009 calendar.  They have each picture on their web site for you to view before you buy.  In the example on the right for the month of March the writing says "Have you heard the one about the hamster and the frog?" "Believe me, with my ears I hear them all".  Here is the link to see their hilarious calendar www.Rabbitnetwork.org.

For Your Information

There is a social networking web site for pet lovers you may not know about.  We were alerted to it by one of our Newsletter subscribers, Eliazabeth of Maine, who has three Lion Head bunnies.  It is called Animal Attraction.  It is free to join and everyone who joins gets to choose a pro-animal charity to which one dollar is sent.  How cool is that!  When you go to choose which kind of pet you have rabbits are not listed so you have to choose "other".  That part I didn't like.  Maybe we rabbit lovers can get them to change that feature and bring them up to date on the House Rabbit Movement sweeping the planet - ha ha.  Just go to www.AnimalAttraction.com.

Speaking of social web sites, BunSpace recently had a contest for the best picture of a rabbit yawning (yes, rabbits yawn - they get tired just like the rest of us).  Here is the picture of the winner.

Wishing You A Happy Holiday Season

No matter how long a person lives, if they have loved much during their lived, they know that life is short.  May we all make the most of our time, and what better way to do that than in spending quality time with family, friends, and pets.

Here at the Mid-South Bunny Museum we have discovered the best picture of what "Happiness" looks like is a "flopped out" bunny rabbit.  Here is a picture of our Bincy bunny in a state of serenity and contentment.
