JUNE 2008 NEWSLETTERThe Heat Is On
Summer is officially here and that means heads up for all House Rabbit owners. Domestic
rabbits cannot handle the heat. Their sensitive inner workings require optimum conditions for good health. Anything over 85 degrees is hazardous to them. So feel free to let your little friend out in an enclosed yard to enjoy the summer mornings and evenings, but keep them out of the afternoon heat.If you must house a rabbit outside be sure to place the cage in the shade and put containers of ice inside during the hottest parts of the day. This really helps keep the little critter cool. Just because wild rabbits can thrive in the hottest desert regions to the coldest arctic tundras does not mean a pet rabbit can survive outside in a summer heatwave. "The Rabbit Died"
It is curious how cliches are passed on from generation to generation to the point where people using them do not even know where the phrase came from. This is the case with "the rabbit died" meaning a woman is pregnant. Read about the origins of this fun-to-say phrase in our latest article by clicking here "The Rabbit Test". Rabbits Do Casablanca
For those who enjoyed seeing rabbits re-enact "It's A Wonderfu Life" in 30 seconds in our May 2008 Newsletter, here are those fast bunnies again for your viewing pleasure racing through "Casablanca" in Bun-O-Vision. Just click here Rabbits Do Casablanca. The Munchkin Award
