Hoppy New Year 2008

Have you gotten used to writing 2008 instead of 2007 yet?  Time sure flies, and seems to go even faster the older we become.  Funny how everyone knows what TIME is, that is until they are asked what TIME is.  We all intuitively know it is something inherent in creation and is what makes the present moment keep changing.  Maybe we can just think of TIME as an "agent of change".

This wasn't the case for the Mad Hatter's Tea Party in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures In Wonderland, for there TIME had stopped.  Which brings us to our featured article this month, "The White Rabbit".  If you are a fan of this wonderful book, we hope you will enjoy how we have zeroed in on the White Rabbit as the star of Wonderland.  Read for yourself at The White Rabbit.

The Green Rabbit

Speaking of the White Rabbit, several years ago and experiment was done with what is called recombinant DNA technology.  It is the ability to cut and paste DNA between different organisms.  French scientists took DNA codes from a jellyfish and "pasted" them into an albino rabbit's egg and produced a white rabbit that glows green in the dark.  You can read more details about this at:

More on Beatrix Potter

Also this month we have added more interesting information about the famous bunny rabbit lover, Beatrix Potter, which covers her trail blazing life where the movie "Miss Potter" leaves off.  This article is found here:

Cottontail Rabbits

The wild rabbits we see from time to time are Eastern Cottontails.  Did you know these animals are owned by the State in which they reside?  And most states have laws against transporting wild rabbits from one county to the next.  So if you ever think about trying to tame a wild rabbit for a pet, think twice - it's against the law and will get you a fine.  If you are interested in the life of wild rabbits you can go here:

Best Wishes for 2008

We at the Mid-South Bunny Museum wish you all the best for 2008.  It is true that not everyone has the time and commitment to be a house rabbit owner, but everyone can enjoy these wonderful, meek creatures of God.  Please be sure and visit our sponsors which helps us continue this work to spread the news about what wonderful house pets rabbits make, and to raise awareness of their deserving of our respect.
