Valentine Love

We trust you zeroed in on the subject of love this month.  Do you know the Valentine story?  He is supposed to have been a priest in Rome during the persecutions of Christians.  He was martyred for marrying Christian couples.

We celebrated Valentine's Day by buying a large rabbit statue that we have placed at the entrance area of The Mid-South Bunny Museum.  We have been looking for a statue of this stature for some time.  We were very pleased to have finally found one during the Valentine season.

Unsolved Mysteries

What would you think if live rabbits were left anonymously in a box on your porch?  And what if this took place over a three week period in what amounted to three dozen rabbits?  This happened to a lady in Connecticut earlier this month.  It definitely kept the rabbit rescue groups in her area busy.  The police were looking for the perpetrator when I read the article online.  The newspaper website has since removed the story but here is the link for their archives coverage of the story:
Unsolved Mysteries.

Uncle Wiggily Longears

Uncle Wiggily was all the rage at the turn of the 20th century.  He is a gentleman rabbit whom stories were written about in one of the leading newspapers of America every day except Sundays for 30 years!  79 books were made from the stories, still popular with children today.  Learn all about this whimsical character and his array of friends at our newest article Uncle Wiggily.

Most Human Rabbit Winner

The great web site BunSpace.com had a photo contest last month for the most human rabbit.  Here is a picture of the winner.

  Valentine Rabbits

Speaking of other web sites.  The great rabbit rescue group HouseRabbitNetwork.com now has videos of some of the bunnies that are needing to be adopted.  We thought you might like to view this short video of Brownie & Isabel that is being featured on YouTube
Brown & Isabel.

Rabbits & Elephants

We have always heard how smart elephants are, especially their ability to remember.  Well, we have come across a web site designed to teach children that is interactive and features rabbits that out smart elephants.  It is really quite fun to go through this site no matter what your age.  Are you sitting comfortably?  Then have some childlike fun at:  Rabbits & Elephants.

Rabbit Budget

In hard-pressed economical times it is nice to know a house rabbit is not going to eat you out of hous
e and home.  Our Bincy Bunny requires a little lettuce, a small handful of hay, and a minute cupful of pellets twice a day.  And since she is well-trained, she is not eating up our funiture or carpets.  Maybe your next pet should be a house rabbit (just a love suggestion).
