December 2008 NewsletterChristmas Reflections
We trust your Christmas celebration was a good one. Our Santa Bunny had a very busy night on December 24th visiting all the good bunnies on his list. The picture on the left is what he looked like before he took flight. As part of our gift giving this year, Linda received a customized license plate for her light brown Toyota Corolla. It has a picture of a brown bunny on it and reads "Brown Bunny". I received a licensed plate for my white Ford LTD with a picture of a white rabbit on it which reads "The White Rabbit". These plates, along with a Rabbit Network 2009 Bunny Calendar, made for a Merry Christmas. Cats & Rabbits
Who says cats and rabbits don't mix? Here is an article from the BBC web site about a large rabbit named summer who has "adopted" six three-week old kittens. Check out the story at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/nor Handicapped Rabbits
Just because one's pet rabbit becomes handicapped is not necessarily a reason to decide on euthanasia. If your rabbit is not in pain and can be accomodated so as to have a happy life then by all means keep enjoying your rabbit's companionship. Here is a video about Ethel the Rabbit who lost the ability of her back legs do to a disabilitating disease and what her owner did about it - very inspiring and is under two minutes in length. Theraputic Bunnies ![]() We make the case in our many informative articles that house rabbits make excellent pets for those willing to commit to them. Not only are they fun, but they have a great theraputic effect on their owners - and all those who get to pet them. Here is a touching story of two rabbits who have proved their theraputic value at a funeral home in Illinois. Please read about Mr Pet-it and Sir Frederick of Cadbury by clicking here: http://www.southernillinoisan.com/artic Of Mice & Men and RabbitsFor those who it has been many years since you've read John Steinbeck's Of Mice & Men you may have forgotten what a significant part the subject of rabbits plays in this classic American story. We have written an article about Steinbeck's use of rabbits that we think you will find interesting. 21st century Americans have lost touch with how significant and common a part rabbits played in the life of America. Happy New Year!
It's time to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. Everyone knows what Time is - until you ask them. Time is actually the 4th dimension that causes change. We can't stop change because we can't stop Time. So we are wishing you positive changes for 2009 even though many forboding economic clouds are looming on the horizon. Always remember we are Human Beings not Human Havers. Our truth wealth consists in who we are and not in what we accumulate. Riches may come and go but a good name is to be more highly prized. True wealth is to be treasured in the hearts of others.
