Bunny Cookies Recipe![]() Using a food-processor, do the following instructions:
Place one cup of ground up pellets and a large handful of hay (cut in short stems). Then add one banana and one carrot. Blend thouroughly. When blended, added 1/2 cup oats, and a handful of cut Parsley AND cut Cilantro. Now, grind it all as much as you can (you may have to turn off the processor occasionally to better mix the ingredients so everything will be cut and mixed). If ingredients seem too dry, add applesauce (up to 1/2 cup). As much as you may be tempted, DO NOT add water. Next, turn all out into a bowl and mash it together very well. If the greens and hay are not short enough, use kitchen shears to clip them shorter. ![]() Now, with wet hands, make one-inch or larger balls, then flatten them onto a coated cookie sheet to about 1/4 of an inch thick. Score the cookies with a knife (into quarters; though not completely cut-through) . Place in oven, set at 190 degrees, for one hour. Take them out of the oven, while hot, place on a cake-rack, then place back into the oven until oven is cool to make sure the bottom of the cookies are also dry. Then, place bunny cookies in plastic baggies or other tightly-sealed item (like rubbermaid containers). Recipe should make 12 (or so) good-sized 2-3 inch bunny cookies. Since each bunny cookie does not have a lot of sugar, you can give your buns 2 pieces (or half of a cookie) each day, which is about as long as they would last in the fridge--12 days. |
