Touched By A Rabbit

The TV program "Touched By An Angel" was one of those rare shows that had a high viewership among minorities as well as whites.  Touched by a Rabbit is very similar in that it will be enjoyed by all those in the different facets of the house rabbit movement.  This book consists of 249 pages containing 39 rabbit stories, written by almost as many authors.  Most of the stories are only a couple of pages so this makes for a good bedtime book.   Some of the stories will make you chuckle, others will make you laugh out loud.  Some will make you sad, and some may even bring tears to your eyes.  For sure, if you are a "bunny slave" you will see your bunny's antics in the rabbits you will be reading about.  One thing is for sure, you will find none of them boring - hey, they're about rabbits.

We have reviewed Lucille Moore's book A House Rabbit Primer on this web site (A House Rabbit Primer) and noted her professional status as a PhD Biologist.  In Touched by a Rabbit, Moore has a very personal story about how a mid-life crisis opened the door for her becoming so engrossed in the studying and caring of rabbits.  On page 110 she reveals her life's vocation is to be on a mission using her natural talents to help improve the lives of rabbits everywhere.  Her story tells how this all came about from the love of a rabbit she named Bunnyman.

We could go on and on about the variety of stories in Touched by a Rabbit, but we only want to whet your appetite.  One story though is so inspirational we will cover it.  It is titled "The Jet-setter and the Rabbit" written by Maria L Perez.  Perez was a very successful in marketing in some of America's largest corporations.  She was the embodiment of the jet-setter life that so many dream about.  One day she decided to save some pet rabbits that had been let loose at the golf course by her home.  She became facinated by how much they taught her about life.  When she battled cancer, her rabbits were her inspiration to survice.  As a result, Perez gave up her career to fulfill her true calling in life, caring for medically compromised bunnies.

In Touc
hed by a Rabbit you will come to better understand phrases such as "a bunny-shaped heart", "a bunny slave", and "a bunny fix". You will read about a vast variety of house rabbits and their individual personalities.  One story is even about a wild rabbit that lived in the house - it's a hoot.  You will come across mischievious rabbits, grumpy rabbits, tri-pod rabbits, "married" rabbits, recued rabbits and how they all have changed the lives of their owners - for the better.

Lucile Moore & Kathy Smith have done us a great service by collecting these wonderful stories for our enjoyment, but also as a great introduction to rabbit owning for those who are thinking about it.  The book is loaded with black & white pictures of rabbits, enough for almost one picture per page.

We kno
w you will love adding Touched by a Rabbit to your rabbit book collection, so why not buy it from our web site which will help support Rabbit World View's efforts in the house rabbit movement.  Also, the authors donate a percentage of each sale of Touched by a Rabbit to animal rescue organizations.
